NEW DELHI: Miffed over the “unjust” removal of her executive assistant, Capt (retd) Ajay Kumar Narang, by executive council (EC) members, Indian Olympic Association (IOA) president, PT Usha, on Monday came out all guns blazing against her colleagues in the EC, terming their “act of defiance” as an attempt to “sideline her”.
The legendary track and field athlete, who was elected as the first woman president of the IOA in its 95-year long history in December last year, told the revolting EC members – led by IOA’s senior vice president Ajay H Patel and joint secretary Kalyan Chaubey – that they cannot issue termination orders of any of the IOA staff as per their “whims and fancies”.
