NEW DELHI: Renowned as the maestro of the football field during the 1970s, Mohammed Habib, whose extraordinary skills led him to score against Pele's New York Cosmos while donning the Mohun Bagan jersey, passed away on Tuesday.
The former India footballer, aged 74, leaves behind his wife and three daughters. Habib, a native of Hyderabad, had been battling dementia and Parkinson's syndrome for the last few years, and he took his final breath in his birthplace.
