The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rain and thunderstorms across several parts of the country, with isolated heavy rainfall likely over parts of southern India. Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds are also expected in several regions, while north India is likely to remain largely dry. Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon continues to withdraw from parts of the country.
