NEW DELHI: It took them two days, but an all-round Indian team outclassed arch-rivals Pakistan in their rain-marred opening Asia Cup Super Four match at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Monday. Rain forced the high-profile contest to reserve day and India came out triumphant by a massive 228 runs to collect two points in the Super 4 stage. It was India's biggest win margin, in terms of runs, against Pakistan in ODIs.
With the huge victory, India jumped to the top of the Super Fours standings on superior Net Run Rate (NRR) as Sri Lanka and Pakistan too have two points each. Only Bangladesh are without a point in Super 4s so far.
