NEW DELHI: Axar Patel joined Ravindra Jadeja in an exclusive company as he reached 200 wickets in the Twenty20 format.
Axar accomplished this feat on Sunday during India's second Twenty20 International against Afghanistan in Indore.
Axar maintained his excellent form with the ball during the game, taking 2/17 in his allotted four overs. He removed Gulbadin Naib, who was looking threatening after hitting a half-century, and captain Ibrahim Zadran.
With Naib's wicket, Axar became the second Indian after Ravindra Jadeja (3382 runs at 25.42 and 216 wickets at 29.87 in 310 matches) to complete the double of 2000 runs and 200 wickets in Twenty20s.
