Addressing the Rajya Sabha on Monday, Jaishankar said the government is closely monitoring the situation and coordinating across ministries to respond effectively to the unfolding crisis in the region. He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is personally reviewing developments as tensions continue to rise.
“Our government issued a statement on February 20 expressing deep concern and urging all sides to exercise restraint. We continue to believe that dialogue and diplomacy should be pursued to de-escalate the tensions,” Jaishankar told the House during heated exchanges with Opposition members.
