India star Mohammad Shami taunted Pakistan legend Shoaib Akhtar as the former quick bowler reacted to Pakistan's T20 World Cup defeat to England.
Jos Buttler's team secured a second white ball triumph in three years, having backed up their 50-over victory in 2019 with another at the MCG. Buttler won the toss and elected to put Pakistan into bat, who went on to set 138 for victory with all-rounder Sam Curran the pick of England's bowlers with figures of 3/12 from four overs.
Buttler's team then followed up their bowling efforts with the bat, as Ben Stokes racked up an unbeaten 52 to secure the title with an over remaining.
The victory sparked wild celebrations in the England setup, but on the other hand captain Babar Azam and his team were left in despair following their near miss. Fast-bowling legend Akhtar took to Twitter to express his heartbreak.
Shortly after the end of play at the MCG, the 47-year-old simply tweeted a broken heart emoji to his 5.5million followers. Whilst many sympathised with Akhtar, one man who did not is Indian rival and fellow quick bowler Shami.
Responding to the Pakistan star's post on social media, Shami tweeted: "Sorry brother. It's called Karma." The Indian's response comes after Akhtar had previously slammed Shami and his teammates, after India's 10-wicket defeat to England in the semi-final.

After posting 168, Rohit Sharma's side were blown away by England openers Buttler and Alex Hales, as they steered they team to victory without losing a wicket. Following the match Akhtar took to Twitter - this time with a video - to describe India's final four performance as 'embarrassing'. He said: "A very embarrassing loss for India...
"It was a bad day for India and their heads went down after they lost the toss. When England batted their first five overs, Indians had given up that moment only. India should have at least given a fight, bowlers should have done better. Shown some aggression."
