NEW DELHI: Indian horse rider Chirag Khandal, who became the youngest equestrian player to qualify for the upcoming Asian Games, announced on Thursday his retirement from the sport owing to official apathy and federation politics.
The rider, who wasn’t named in the final contingent list in equestrian for the Asiad despite attaining the required Minimum Eligibility Requirements (MERs), has been left so crestfallen that he and his entire family has decided to shift their home base from Gurugram back to their hometown Jaipur for Chirag’s future education.
