Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is embarking on a visit to Washington, aiming to navigate potential tariff challenges and strengthen ties with the United States. Despite being spared new tariffs so far, India faces pressure from President Donald Trump to address trade imbalances and increase purchases of American goods.

Modi and Trump have cultivated a personal relationship, with Modi welcoming Trump's return to the White House. However, Trump has labeled India as a 'tariff king' and raised issues such as migrant deportations.
