Rising fuel prices triggered by the ongoing West Asia conflict could push up prices of packaged foods, staples and household essentials in the coming months as higher freight and input costs squeeze margins of consumer goods makers, according to a report by The Times of India.
The report said the latest fuel price revision is expected to increase logistics, distribution and raw material costs for fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) companies already dealing with 8-10% inflationary pressures.
