India has resumed some visa services in Canada, starting today. The news has come from India's High Commission in Ottawa. The services were stopped in September this year, following a diplomatic row. Officials in the know-how added that they will resume issuing some visas after reviewing the security situation at their missions, and in light of recent Canadian measures which they did not name.
It has to be noted that the service commences today for select categories only. Resumption of visa services will now be in place for entry visas, business visa, medical as well as conference visas. Officials also added that, "further decisions, as appropriate, would be intimated based on continuing evaluation of the situation". It has to be noted that entry visas are for "persons of Indian origin", their partners, children and immediate family members of an Indian citizen.
