NEW DELHI: The highly anticipated India-Pakistan contest in the upcoming ODI World Cup might be advanced by a day to October 14 due to the opening day of Navratri celebrations in Ahmedabad. The International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had earlier announced the World Cup schedule, with the marquee clash to take place at the world's largest stadium in Ahmedabad.
Hotel and air fares for Ahmedabad soared significantly following the schedule announcement, causing distress among fans who had planned to attend the match. Now, if the game is indeed moved by a day, the ordeal for the fans is likely to worsen.
