India could unlock a productivity opportunity equivalent to 1 per cent of GDP by improving how it maintains industrial equipment and infrastructure, recovering output lost to breakdowns, unplanned downtime, inefficient assets and premature replacement, industry leaders said at MRAM Expo 2026 on Wednesday.
The opportunity comes as companies shift from reactive, run-to-fail maintenance towards predictive, data-driven and reliability-centred systems, which can improve industrial output, extend asset life and reduce operating costs, industry leaders said.
