An independent Birmingham café group has announced plans to open a new venue in the city.
Yorks has signed a deal to launch a new site on the ground floor of Two Chamberlain Square at the £700 million Paradise scheme.
The new 2,900 sq ft café is due to open in the spring and will join Yorks' other Birmingham eateries in Stephenson Street and Ikon Gallery in Brindleyplace alongside sites in Stratford-upon-Avon and Leamington Spa.
In addition to its usual day-time menu of hot drinks, cakes and light bites, Yorks will also stay open into the evening and serve pizzas, small plates, locally brewed beers and cocktails.
Founder and owner Simon Ford said: "This is a major step for Yorks and we can't wait to bring our Birmingham roasted coffee and all-day-dining food menus to the millions of people who walk through Paradise every year.
"As a company born and bred in Birmingham, it's exciting to be coming home to the heart of the city as part of the region's finest development project and to be part of this entirely new corner of the city."
Yorks will join a growing group of dining out establishments at Paradise comprising Rosa's Thai Cafe, Dishoom and Albert's Schloss as well as wine bar and restaurant Vinoteca which is also due to open in the spring.
And last month city planners awarded the green light for a new 17-storey hotel next to Birmingham Town Hall as developers continue with plans to add further office and commercial space there.
Rob Groves, regional development director with Paradise's development manager MEPC, added: "Yorks is another quality occupier coming to Paradise in order to evolve and grow with us while offering top-quality food and drink to the people who work and walk through the development.
"As a local company, we're really looking forward to having the Yorks brand on the estate offering some of the best-quality hot drinks, bakery and brunch in the city. This is yet another significant milestone for us and our fifth quality leisure operator.
"With our recent progress in bringing forward the next phases of Paradise, Yorks adds to the wider momentum of Paradise and gives us yet another reason to be excited for the rest of 2022."
