IND W vs PAK W weather, pitch report: Check Birmingham forecast, predicted playing XIs, head-to-head record and more

India and Pakistan will renew their rivalry in Match 6 of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 at Edgbaston in Birmingham on Sunday, with both sides aiming to make an early statement in the tournament.

Led by Harmanpreet Kaur, India enter the contest carrying momentum from their historic Women's ODI World Cup 2025 triumph, their first title in the format. The team will look to build on that success in the T20 tournament, with openers Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma expected to play key roles at the top of the order.

IND W VS PAK W: Weather forecast

Weather conditions in Birmingham are expected to remain favourable for play. Forecasts indicate mostly cloudy skies with temperatures reaching around 18 degrees Celsius. With only a 10 per cent chance of precipitation, interruptions due to rain are unlikely. Cloud cover could provide some assistance to seam bowlers during the early stages of the match.

India vs Pakistan: Pitch report for Edgbaston

The Edgbaston surface is expected to offer assistance to both batters and bowlers. Pace bowlers could find movement with the new ball due to Birmingham's conditions, while spinners may become increasingly influential as the innings progresses.

The average first-innings score in 19 Women's T20 Internationals at the venue is 145. Teams batting first have won 10 of those matches.

Head-to-head record

India hold a clear advantage in previous meetings between the two sides. Of the 16 matches played, India have won 13 while Pakistan have emerged victorious on three occasions. There have been no matches without a result.

Probable playing XIs

India Women Probable XI: Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Richa Ghosh (wk), Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Deepti Sharma, Shreyanka Patil, Nandani Sharma, Renuka Singh Thakur, Kranti Gaud, N. Shree Charani.

Pakistan Women Probable XI: Muneeba Ali (wk), Gull Feroza, Ayesha Zafar, Aliya Riaz, Fatima Sana (c), Saira Jabeen, Natalia Pervaiz, Tuba Hassan, Sadia Iqbal, Diana Baig, Nashra Sandhu.

Match and toss timings

The match will be played at Edgbaston in Birmingham and is scheduled to begin at 7 PM IST. The toss will take place at 6:30 PM IST, which corresponds to 1:30 PM GMT and 2:30 PM local time.

Pakistan face uphill task

Pakistan, currently ranked eighth in the ICC Women's T20I rankings, head into the match after defeats in both their warm-up fixtures against Ireland and West Indies. Despite those results, Fatima Sana's side will seek to bounce back and challenge one of the favourites for the title.

Captain Fatima Sana has been among Pakistan's standout performers over the past year, averaging more than 50 with the bat while maintaining a bowling average below 25.
