Mumbai: Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has been ruled out of the second Test against Bangladesh in Dhaka starting 22 December. Pacer Navdeep Saini has also been ruled out with an abdominal muscle strain. The Indian skipper could not recover from his thumb injury sustained during the second ODI and will not be available for the second Test.
The injury occurred during the fourth delivery of the second over of the second ODI, sent down by Mohammed Siraj, as Rohit, who was fielding in the slip cordon, tried to catch a ball and hurt his thumb.
