A fit and healthy dad who suffered from chest pains for 18 months has shared his devastating diagnosis of incurable blood cancer. Gareth Alexander from Bangor, Northern Ireland, thought the pain was just muscular aches.
However after the 46-year-old was eventually sent for an X-ray, results showed a tumour in his chest. He was diagnosed with myeloma in June 2019.
As reported by Belfast Live at the time of diagnosis, his two sons were only 3 and 5 years old. Myeloma which is a type of bone marrow cancer is difficult to spot.
