Incredible new footage of Anfield Road end next steps

New, spectacular footage has emerged of the new Anfield Road stand expansion as a drone was flown above Liverpool's stadium to capture the images.

Work is set to be complete in time for the start of next season and 61,000 fans will be inside Anfield, enhancing the famous atmosphere even more.

The drone footage from Mister Drone UK shows how much progress has been made after the 300-tonne roof tusse was lifted into place in July - a milestone moment in the construction work.

With the additional 7,000 seats in the Anfield Road stand, Anfield will become the fourth-largest stadium in the Premier League with just Old Trafford, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and the London Stadium having a higher capacity.

The building of the stand follows that of the Main Road stand and capacity is not affected during the construction period. Liverpool CEO Billy Hogan admitted setting the building period to 18 months was an ambitious one, but achievable.

“The construction timelines we have set of 18 months are aggressive but we are heading in the right direction and we are on budget and on schedule,” Hogan told fcbusiness.

“We have always been clear about the importance of investing in Anfield and this expansion will allow us to improve the fan experience for our supporters.”
