A dramatic video shows the moment an escaped ostrich knocks a woman off her bicycle as she cycles in the road.
The bizarre collision, which happened in a street in Ranchos, Buenos Aires, Argentina on Monday, resulted in the woman going flying off her bike.
CCTV footage shows the escaped bird running at speed towards the woman as she makes her way across the road.
As the ostrich gets closer to the unaware woman, the large bird appears to try and slow down and can be seen flapping its wings.
The huge bird appears to slide on the floor but still collides with the woman and the bike.
The ostrich quickly gets up and starts to hobble off, before falling to the ground, seemingly dazed.
It then gets up again and sprints out of sight.
The woman, who was flung to the ground, reportedly broke her wrist and sustained a large cut to her head, reports Mail Online.
A male witness can be seen rushing to the woman's aid, before a second man does the same.
Elsewhere in the CCTV footage, two dogs can be seen standing in the road, while a large van is forced to stop in the middle of the road while the woman is helped to her feet.
According to local reports, the bird was a pet that escaped from a nearby home.
A witness is reported to have called emergency services and the woman was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Ostriches, who can run at speeds of up to 43mph, are usually raised on farms, but are capable of adapting to any environment after four months of age, according to an expert interviewed by the news site TN.
Further reports suggest residents are outraged following the incident, with some calling for the bird's owner to be held responsible.
However, it is unclear if the local authorities are investigating.
