Inbetweeners star looks unrecognisable 12 years on from playing Carli’s best friend

Actress Lily Lovett is best known for her role in Channel 4 comedy series, The Inbetweeners.

Lily, now 32, shot to fame in the side-splitting series as Rachel - who was Carli's best friend.

Throughout the second series of The Inbetweeners, viewers were kept entertained and on their toes by Rachel - who had it in for Simon who was famously besotted with neighbour Carli throughout the duration of the show.

Lily's sassy character Rachel memorably played a main role in the episode 'Night Out in London' where Will tries his best to 'pull' her in a nightclub.

Following her main role in the side-splitting episode, Rachel went on to appear in an array of more episodes as she was always there to offer a word of bad advise to her best pal Carli as she continuously tried to steer her away from Simon.

Actress Lily also appeared in the first big screen adaptation of the series in 2011 - which went on to be a box-office hit.

Over a decade after finding fame on the hilarious Channel 4 show, Lily has revealed that she feels like a completely different person these days.

The TV star also looks worlds away from the character she played in the sitcom.

Speaking to The Scottish Sun about her time on the show, Lily revealed: "For a while I was spotted but now I look quite different and it reminds me how long it's been.

"I’ve had one guy cycle past the stop while I was sitting and he said bus w*****s.

"I don’t know if he recognised me. He was one of those little chavs on a bike that was 11 and had a lot to prove.

"He was cycling and not even in a car, he can't say that."

Lily went on to land roles in Silent Witness and Cuffs after The Inbetweeners (digtital spy)

After her Inbetweeners stint, Lily went on to land roles in Silent Witness and Cuffs.

Her last acting role came in short 2017 film The Landlady.

The Inbetweeners originally aired from 2008 until 2010 and was created and written by Damon Beesley and Iain Morris.

The programme was nominated for Best Situation Comedy at BAFTA twice, in 2009 and 2010.

At the British Academy Television Awards 2010, it won the Audience Award, the only category voted for by the public.
