Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road Best Players Ranked

Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road is filled to the brim with characters, ranging from past to present (depending on the game mode). However, not all characters are equal, and that’s something players picked up on very soon. Some are good for the early game, but significantly fall off, while others are slow to grow but can dominate tier lists at Hero rank.

As a beginner, it can be hard to know which characters you should go for. How do you know a character will be good once it reaches Hero rank? With a plethora of tier lists out there, it can definitely be confusing. To help out, we’ve compiled a consolidated tier list that takes into account character difficulty, relevance at Hero tier, and comparison to other characters at the same rank. Without further wait, let’s get into it.

S-Tier Picks

Firstly, we have the S-Tier picks. These are meta-defining picks that will help you throughout your IE: Victory Road journey. They should be your main focus when starting the game, and won’t fall off as you progress. While the meta is always subject to change, characters like Cedric Freud, for example, are your best bet at a strong start. Here are my picks for top players:

  • Cedric Freud – Elite Midfielder
  • Nikas Himmelstein – Power Forward
  • Raika Shinohara – Speed Striker
  • Harper Evans – Technical Forward
  • Alix La Fontaine – Top-Tier Goalkeeper
  • Destin Billows – All-Around Attacker
  • Fei Rune – Agile Forward
  • Jazmine Carmine – Creative Midfielder

A-Tier Picks

Those were your S-Tier picks, but realistically, you’re not filling your squad with all attackers. A-Tier picks are also great players, falling ever so slightly behind S-Tier. You can switch some of them out for other A-Tier picks, or use them temporarily until you get an S-Tier for their position. They’re solid picks, especially during early team building, and are worthwhile investments. The following players fall into this category:

  • Briar Bloomhurst – Defensive Midfielder
  • Elaine Sereno – Balanced Midfielder
  • Darian Moonwood – Defensive Anchor
  • Talon Lewis – Fast Winger
  • Eleanor Estrella – Passing Midfielder
  • Colton Sharps – Central Defender
  • Zander Warmington – Secondary Striker
  • Ivan Mercer – Forward Support
  • Victorio Cryptix – Attacking Midfielder
  • Martino Leone – Strong Goalkeeper
  • Neil Turner – Utility Midfielder

B-Tier Picks

Moving on to B-Tier players, these are good players that shine in some niches. They’re most useful as temporary fodder cards to fill in your team while you look for/upgrade other stronger cards. B-Tier cards aren’t meta-defining as of now, but you never know when a card could get a buff. If you’re having trouble filling posts, these players aren’t bad options:

  • Laymark Starwyn – Midfielder
  • Maddock Jackson – Defender
  • Taliesin Greenhunt – Winger
  • Boone Wretman – Midfield Support
  • Clemant Mariner – Defensive Midfield
  • Vivorian Maleby – Wide Midfielder
  • Thierry Reyes – Forward
  • Cade Shelby – CB
  • Lilac Tausend – Midfielder
  • Juno Hundertmark – Midfielder
  • Winsor Compete – Defender
  • Jenny Okutba – Attacking Midfielder
  • Edgard Loathe – Winger
  • Milo Rankin – Midfielder
  • Raz Pond – Defensive Midfielder

C-Tier Picks

Our final section is dedicated to some very off-meta picks we wouldn’t recommend investing in right now. C-Tier picks consist of players who just haven’t made their mark in IE: Victory Road just yet. Will they never be useful? That’s unclear. But until they get some serious buffs to their kits and stats, we’d recommend steering clear of them.

However, remember that if you need to fill spots temporarily, they can still be useful in some scenarios. Here’s the list:

  • Cross Word Cryptix – Attacker
  • Marine Alsop – Midfielder
  • Amelia Rainwalker – Support Midfield
  • Meridia Althoff – Flank Midfielder
  • Tai Richter – Defender
  • Davin Bullock – Midfielder
  • Lycus Foxworth – Attacker
  • Marisol Cavallo – Midfielder

And that rounds out our tier list for the best players in IE: Victory Road currently. As it stands, we’re bound to get more and more characters as the game progresses and picks up traction. That will definitely change the meta, so keep an eye out for updated tier lists.

Also, remember that this is a general tier list of which characters perform better than others at max level. It doesn’t mean you cannot play a character if you think it’s fun. Even a C-Tier character can be better than an S-Tier in niche circumstances (however, I wouldn’t recommend testing that theory).

In the end, metas are just to help out newer players understand where each character stands in terms of power, but they are not a fixed way to play the game. Try out each character for yourself to see what you enjoy.
