Golf Monthly magazine

A message from the editor, Mike Harris:

The team at Golf Monthly strives to deliver consistently informative and interesting content, not only to guide and assist golfers but also to entertain, inspire and offer food for thought. We pride ourselves on our feature section and the variety within it. I think this month provides a superb example of the quality and diversity of features we produce.

With a tour focus, Fergus Bisset has written a considered and measured profile piece on Rory McIlroy, offering some interesting theories on why the Northern Irishman seems to have such a split golfing personality just now. I think we all want to see more of the brilliant Rory, the man who wins tour events for fun, producing those winning performances in the Majors. I hope The Open returning to Hoylake, the site of his victory in 2014, may inspire him to glory on the grandest stage once again.

Elsewhere, David Facey talks with new kid on the block Max Homa. The American has emerged as a star of the world game and is one of the most popular and engaging players out there. On the equipment side, we sent Carly Frost to Phoenix to gain an insight into one of golf’s most exciting brands, PXG. It’s a company that’s been able to challenge the established manufacturers by taking a dynamic and different approach.

What’s more, our women’s golf editor, Alison Root, meets Kate and Justin Rose to talk about the highly successful Rose Ladies Series. The couple have a real passion for the project, which is a great concept that showcases the best of women’s golf.

I’m proud of the features we’re sharing with you this month and have no doubt you’ll find something to get your teeth into.

FREE Longer, Straighter, Better Magazine

There’s no denying that a good short game can be a godsend for many, but if the state of your driving and long game means you’re only ever chipping and putting to save par or bogey, you’re only really limiting the damage instead of achieving your true scoring potential.

What if there were a way to improve your driving and long game such that there were less need for any chipping and a greater number of birdie chances to try and convert? That highly desirable mix of more length and greater accuracy could help you achieve just that, which is why we’ve teamed up with TaylorMade and Golf Monthly Top 50 Coach Dan Grieve for this Longer, Straighter, Better supplement.

Dan covers everything from distance-sapping slices to uncontrollable snap hooks and much more, with easy-to-understand explanations and highly practical tips. Some will require work and practice, but others may pave the way to fairly rapid gains as they get you thinking about things in a fresh way.
