Only six golfers have ever done what Scottie Scheffler has a chance to do next week in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The No. 1 player in the Official World Golf Ranking will be going for his third straight WM Phoenix Open victory at TPC Scottsdale. The last golfer to win three straight events on the PGA Tour was Steve Stricker at the John Deere Classic from 2009-11. Scheffler highlights the field of the 2024 WM Phoenix Open, which was announced Friday, and he’s got a bit of history on the line.
Later this year, Tom Kim will have his shot at three straight wins at the Shriners Children’s Open.
Also in the field at TPC Scottsdale will be Viktor Hovland, Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler, Xander Schauffele and many others. Although the WM Phoenix Open isn’t a signature event this year, many of the best on the PGA Tour will battle it out for the top prize, where an $8.8 million purse and $1.584 million will be awarded to the victor.
Here’s a look at the full field for the 2024 WM Phoenix Open.
Two-time defending WM Phoenix Open champion Scottie Scheffler looks to become the first player to win the same PGA TOUR event three years in a row since Steve Stricker at the John Deere Classic (2009-2011).
