In pictures: Norman Foster design chosen for UK memorial to Queen Elizabeth II

Norman Foster Queen Elizabeth II London St James Park Foster Partners

The winning design for the national memorial for Queen Elizabeth II has been announced and will feature commemorative gardens, a translucent glass bridge and a statue of Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh.

British studio Foster + Partners has been selected to honour Britain's longest-reigning monarch through their ambitious design, to be built in St James's Park in central London.

New York has just declared a state of emergency as measles cases continue to rise. So far this year, the US has recorded 3,887 cases of measles, the highest annual total since 1991. That is about 70% more cases than were recorded during the whole of 2025.
