HEAVY snow has hit parts of Scotland overnight as temperatures dropped as low as minus 8C.
The Met Office has put yellow weather warnings for snow and ice for many parts of the country, with the snowfall already causing travel disruption.
However, many Scots have also taken the opportunity to enjoy the picturesque weather.
Glasgow Airport was forced to suspend all flights due to the snowfall, saying it had been "heavier than forecast" and urging passengers to check with their airline for updates.
ScotRail has also reported some disruption to trains in the west of the country as snow impacts signalling systems.
Temperatures are expected to continue falling over the weekend with the Met Office warning that more snowfall is to be expected.
