In 2025, Kai Cenat opened a free Streamer University; within hours, its website received over 6 million requests and crashed

Kai Cenat’s Streamer University was supposed to give aspiring creators a free shot at learning the game. Instead, the first sign-up rush became a problem of its own. When the website opened on May 6, 2025, it reportedly received more than 6 million web requests in hours. More than 1 million applications were completed before the platform froze, showing just how big the demand had become.

The project itself was a Harry Potter-inspired, multi-day creator boot camp built around livestreaming and online content. Cenat rented the University of Akron in Ohio for the 2025 edition and brought together a group after the online application pool. The final class had only 120 student creators, with 17 professors involved. That gap shows how selective the program became.

The free creator program became huge before classes even began

Getting in was the hard part. Those selected for Streamer University received an all-expenses-paid experience, including travel, food and housing. They also got sponsored T-Mobile phones. The training was focused on the actual work behind a creator career, with workshops covering livestream production, monetization, algorithmic optimization and audience retention.

The faculty also came from the online creator world. Duke Dennis, Agent 00, DDG and ImDontai were among the names brought in as guest professors and mentors. So this was not just a classroom setup. The format was built around people already working inside the same internet-first space the students wanted to enter.
