In 2017, a UK entrepreneur started a meal-prep business with £2,000; years later, it generated £50 million a year

George Taylor did not begin Frive with a large investment, a factory or a polished business plan. In 2017, he had about £2,000 and an idea shaped by his own struggle to live differently. He started making healthy meals from his one-bedroom flat in East London and delivering them to customers himself.

The company was then called Lions Prep. It was aimed largely at people who wanted to eat better without spending hours shopping, cooking and counting meals. Taylor had already learned how difficult that routine could be to maintain. Food, exercise and structure had become important parts of rebuilding his own life, and that experience became the starting point for the business.
