In 2007, Roseanne Barr bought a 46-acre Hawaii macadamia farm for $1.78 million; 18 years later, the property sold for $2.6 million with orchards and a greenhouse onsite

American actress and comedian Roseanne Barr bought a 46-acre macadamia farm on Hawaii's Big Island for $1.78 million in 2007. Eighteen years later, the Hawaii property changed hands for $2.6 million after going on the market for $1.95 million, as per a report.

The farm, near Honokaa along the Hamakua Coast, was home to more than 4,000 macadamia trees. It also had avocado, finger lime, apple banana and tangerine groves, along with a greenhouse and several other features spread across the property.

Barr moved to Hawaii permanently in 2007 and bought the property with plans to build a self-sufficient home, cultivate the land and help feed struggling families in the local community.

The property also became part of Barr's television work. Her 2011 reality series, Roseanne's Nuts, followed Barr, her partner Johnny Argent, and son Jake Pentland as they tried their hands at farming. The show lasted one season.

The farm was listed for sale in 2025

The 46-acre ranch was listed in August 2025 for $1.95 million. It sold a week later for $2.6 million, or $650,000 above the asking price, as per Robb Report. Listing agent Paul Stukin of Deep Blue HI said the buyers came from five states, the Neighbor Islands, and three European countries.

The main house measured roughly 2,700 square feet and had four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. High ceilings, open-plan layouts and walls of glass were among its features, while a broad lanai overlooked the coastline and orchard.

The grounds included a pool with a waterslide, pool house, greenhouse, art studio, bamboo-enclosed outdoor shower and soaking tub, and a garage/workshop.

Barr said at that time, “Hawaii will always hold a special place in my heart, but I’m getting too old to do as much as I used to,” adding, “The land deserves someone with the spirit and energy to care for it the way it should be,” as quoted by Robb Report.

She retained a smaller property in Waimea while relocating to Texas to focus on new ventures.
