In 1977, Jack Nicholson bought a 70-acre Malibu ranch; decades later, the property sold for $3.5 million, with trails and equestrian facilities and a pool

Jack Nicholson’s Malibu Beach ranch was a substantial California property that eventually sold in September 2011 for just under $3.5 million. The expansive property was significantly different from Nicholson’s historic Aspen residence, offering a more relaxed California setting and a range of recreational features.

The Malibu property included a lighted tennis court, a putting green, a swimming pool, and a grotto-style spa. These amenities gave the ranch an emphasis on outdoor recreation and leisure, reflecting a very different character from the traditional Victorian architecture of Nicholson’s Aspen home.
