Imtiaz Ali recently opened up about working with a young Deepika Padukone during his film, ‘Love Aaj Kal’. According to him, people didn’t expect her to be a good actress.
In an interview with a news portal, the filmmaker recalled that as an actress, people didn’t think she was good. According to him, people doubted casting his choice. She was supposed to be pretty, and beautiful but not a good actress. However, the director added that she has changed that over the years.
Imtiaz also further shared that Deepika was quite young when she did ‘Love Aaj Kal’ but the actress tried to behave as though she is older. According to Imtiaz, one day suddenly something happened and he saw her as the youngster that she was and the ice broke. Initially, he admitted that they had a formal relationship. However, later, she started joking around and they chilled out. After that, they started sharing secrets and talking about vulnerabilities, Imtiaz told Indian Express.
‘Love Aaj Kal’ starred Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles. The film was appreciated and loved by the audience and the critics alike.
