Georgia Southern women’s basketball earned an improbable 69–66 road win over Louisiana-Monroe at Hanner Fieldhouse in Statesboro, Ga on Saturday.
The Eagles, inbounded the ball in their own backcourt, trailing the Warhawks 66–64 with only 10.3 seconds remaining in the game.
After racing down the court. Ja’nya Love-Hill found Terren Ward under the ULM basket for an easy layup that tied the game at 66–66 with only 4.5 seconds left.
Following the basket, Warhawks guard Lauren Gross attempted a half-court pass that was stolen by Ward. After corralling the loose ball, Ward banked home a 40-foot shot buzzer beater to give the Eagles the improbable road victory.

Ward finished the matchup with a team-high 20 points while adding 10 rebounds, two assists and two steals. Gross led the way in a losing effort for the Warhawks scoring a career-high 20 points on the strength of hitting 6 of 9 shots from beyond the arc.
Georgia Southern (12–3), who witnessed their 10-game winning streak snapped on Thursday against Troy, improved to 2–1 in Sun Belt conference play. On the flip side, ULM (9–5), who has now lost four of their last five games, fell to 1–2 in league play.
