Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has questioned early criticism of new signing Darwin Nunez following his £64m move to the club earlier this summer.
With potential add-ons, he could become the Merseyside club's most expensive signing so it's no surprise he was in the spotlight when pre-season training got underway last month. Likewise with any new player, it takes time for them to find their feet and settle into a new club, but the critics were out in full force after a couple of nervous performances in friendlies during the tour of the far east.
Since then, Nunez has certainly silenced the majority as he scored against Manchester City in the Reds' FA Community Shield victory at the end of July. He also changed the game when he came on as a second-half substitute in the 2-2 draw with Fulham last weekend, he scored the equaliser to make it 1-1 and get Liverpool back into the game.
