'Imagine that' - Former Red makes huge Nottingham Forest prediction ahead of Liverpool FA Cup clash

Former Nottingham Forest striker Grant Holt believes his old side can use their FA Cup momentum to earn promotion to the Premier League.

Holt, who played for Forest between 2006 and 2008, was working as a television pundit for ITV as the Reds beat Huddersfield in the last 16 on Monday evening.

Ahead of the quarter-final tie against Liverpool, Holt was full of praise for Forest fans and hinted that momentum built from the FA Cup run can be used to earn a long-awaited promotion to the Premier League.

"If you think it was noisy tonight, wait till Liverpool come to town. They'll fancy themselves too," Holt said.

"They sell this place out week after week and it's good for them to have moments. It's been a long time coming since they've had this belief. They've got the belief they can go up, they believe they can do anything at the moment.

"They deserved it tonight. They were the better team.

"The atmosphere will be brilliant against Liverpool. Tickets will go as soon as they come on sale.

"Against Liverpool you know you're on a hiding to nothing. You can't really press but you know Steve will set his team to get high and go wide.

"Liverpool will certainly have lots more quality that Huddersfield. Imagine if they win, imagine that momentum to take into the league.

"They've beaten two Premier League teams already. They'll look at it and say 'can this be our time? Can we get this club back to the Premier League?'

"Imagine that momentum. You would play Liverpool and teams like that every week."
