Renders showing housing, retail spaces and other development around a new $1.13 billion stadium in Hobart have been released as part of the site's master plan.
The divisive 23,000-seat roofed waterfront venue, which was approved by state parliament in December, will be the home of the Tasmania Devils AFL club.
The master plan for the Macquarie Point precinct, released on Wednesday, provides impressions of housing and retail areas to be built around the venue.
The plan has two six-floor residential options, one with 93 dwellings and another with 99, while there are two precinct car park options, above and below ground.
Macquarie Point Development Corporation chief executive Anne Beach told reporters there had been interest in commercial sites, and for a hotel build.
Two companies are in the running to be awarded the tender to construct the stadium.
They are expected to be named shortly as part of the process, with the construction contract to commence in late 2026.
It was recently revealed the stadium's completion wouldn't be ready until 2031, Tasmania's third season in the AFL and AFLW.
The stadium, which was a condition of the Devils securing their licence, sparked protests and rallies from both sides of the fence.
"We have always championed this vision every step of the way and there is a strategic plan in place to deliver these community outcomes," Minister for Macquarie Point Urban Renewal Eric Abetz said.
"We are continuing to drive the urban renewal of this site and to revitalise and activate this area of the city."
There was no further shift to the construction timeline, Mr Abetz said.
The federal government is contributing $240 million towards the precinct and stadium, funding that was conditional on the master plan being approved.
