Sydney superstar Errol Gulden says he's prepared to step up as captain to help the Swans ramp up their AFL premiership bid without the injured Callum Mills.

The 24-year-old has thrown his hat in the ring to deputise for skipper Mills after his midfield performance led the Swans to a stirring qualifying final win over Brisbane.
