Illan Meslier the fourth Leeds United injury at Wolves as Kristoffer Klaesson makes debut

Leeds United's injury issues have deepened as Illan Meslier had to be taken off in the 54th minute of a brutal clash at Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Frenchman limped off holding his thigh and was substituted after a hasty-looking collision with Raul Jimenez.

The challenge led to Jimenez being shown a second yellow card for his troubles, while Meslier was left second best and hobbled off in pain. Kristoffer Klaesson ended up coming on in Meslier's absence for his Leeds first-team debut.

The Norwegian international has been a regular in the Whites' under-23s side, but now gets his first taste of Leeds' first-team.m this season but has never been given his opportunity for the first-team. Jesse Marsch should provide an update on the France goalkeeper in his post-match press conference.

Nevertheless, it has been a damaging game on the injury front for the Whites, who were forced to make three early changes before Meslier was taken off. Patrick Bamford and Diego Llorente were forced off with injuries, while Mateusz Klich was taken off as a concussion substitute.

Meslier was Leeds' final sub, barring another concussion substitution. There were eight minutes added on to the first-half due to all of these changes. Bamford appeared to be holding his ankle as he limped off the pitch, while Llorente looked like he has sustained a back issue.

This adds to Raphinha's Covid-19 problem and Junior Firpo's knee injury.
