A pub has been closed for a few years has been reduced to 'a shell' in preparation for a transformation into a bed and breakfast (B&B). The site that the pub is on Quarry Hill Road in Ilkeston is up for sale with planning permission to create accommodation with up to ten bedrooms.
The Bulls Head pub which was located in Little Hallam has been completely stripped and is currently a shell that has no access to the upstairs. There has been a start to the work which includes site clearance and installation of a retaining wall. The proposed accommodation would also have space for 10 parking spaces and a beer garden.
Photos show the extent of the work that has been carried out and also the potential of the building for new owners. The pub has been cleared out and there is ample space for development. There is a £350,000 guide price online for the land.

The pub has been closed since the brewery Greene King decided to sell the building. Planning permission had been granted in January 2021 for the proposed B&B which will include a bar and commercial kitchen.
There were other plans submitted for the building that included transforming the site into retail and flats but those were unsuccessful. The plans were to include parking spaces, an ATM and a delivery yard to the rear of the property. It was suggested that the proposed store could create seven new jobs for the area.
It had also been suggested that the premises could open as a store with an attached micropub although these have not been approved.
Chris Wright of Omeeto Estate Agents said: "It's an excellent opportunity as it is a highly prominent site. We just need to find the right person to take it on."
