Ilkay Gundogan scores fastest FA Cup final goal ever after 13 SECONDS vs Man Utd

Ilkay Gundogan has scored the fastest FA Cup final goal ever after his stunning strike against Manchester United inside 13 seconds.

City started on the front foot with a long ball forward which bounced perfectly for the German midfielder, who unleashed a stunning right-footed volley to leave David de Gea stranded.

The goal sparked jubilant scenes in the Manchester City end as Pep Guardiola's side look to add a second trophy in their quest of the Treble, ahead of next weekend's Champions League final.

The goal was officially clocked at 13 seconds and breaks the previous record set by Everton striker Louis Saha, who scored after 25 seconds against Chelsea in 2009.

The match could be Gundogan's last in England as City captain, with his contract expiring this summer amid speculation linking him with Barcelona and AC Milan.

The City skipper played a key role in his sides Premier League title win and scored two stunning goals in a crucial win at Everton in the run-in.

Speaking last month, Guardiola admitted Gundogan is among the best players he has had the pleasure of working with.

“He’s so intelligent Gundo, so clever and competitive. Under pressure he handles it without a problem. He’s one of the best players I ever trained in my career in terms of the whole package. He's top, top class.”

"Nobody knows what is going to happen, maybe he stays. Hopefully. He doesn't talk much (as a captain) but when he talks, everyone listens.

"This is the power of a leader. He shows leadership every training session. Arriving on time, living the job 24 hours a day. He plays like he's playing now."

On the goal, BBC commentator Jermaine Jenas said: "It's just a moment of brilliance from the Manchester City captain. The technique is something else. Ilkay Gudogan has stepped up with important goals at the end of the season and he's done it again."

City had a chance to double their lead early on at Wembley but Rodri headed into the side-netting.
