Manchester City captain Ilkay Gundogan has admitted that following up February's win away to Arsenal with a disappointing draw at Nottingham Forest proved to be a crucial week in their season.
The win in North London, courtesy of second-half goals from Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland, saw City overtake Arsenal for only the second time all season, the first occasion being back in August. Their ascent would be short-lived, though, as three days later, while it looked like City were cruising to another three points by the banks of the River Trent after taking the lead before half-time through Bernardo Silva, Chris Wood equalised late for Forest to steal a point.
Mid-February remains the last time City led the Premier League due to their games in hand over Arsenal. But the title race landscape has changed significantly since then, with Pep Guardiola's side winning seven straight matches in the league since after dropping points at the City Ground. The club's captain is adamant that week was when things changed, and they began to get back on track.

"Most of the time, there's one game that kind of changes things, and I would probably say (this season) there were two games," Gundogan told Sky Sports.
"One was the first match playing at the Emirates against Arsenal, and winning it, and then just to go to Nottingham Forest a few days later and drop two very important points by conceding one goal in the 84th minute.
"This week between Arsenal and Nottingham Forest was quite crucial, especially if you look at the results since then; I think we've done amazingly, and we are on track."
