IKEA's resell program now accepts almost 3,000 items — here's how to trade in your old furniture for store credit

Ikea store front sign .

If you've ever struggled to haul an old IKEA bookshelf to the curb or felt guilty throwing away a perfectly good desk, IKEA has a solution. The retailer's Buyback & Resell program lets you sell your used IKEA products back to the store for gift card credit, and they've just expanded the program to accept nearly 3,000 different items.

IKEA has added more than 700 new product types to the buyback list. This means you can now sell back everything from storage units and dining tables to lamps, dishes, and children's furniture. The items you sell get a second life in IKEA's "As-is" section, where other customers can buy pre-assembled furniture at discounted prices.
