IKEA’s $3 Storage Case Is the Only Way I’ll Organize My Winter Bedding Now That Spring Is Here

A attic bedroom space with pink and green panelled walls, a large white metal framed double bed with colorful, floral bedding, and a rattan ottoman at the end of it with a stack of books, white blanket, and two stacked bowls in white and orange. Beneath the bed is a white rug and wooden flooring, and to the right is a circular bedside table, stacks of books, large window with sheer white curtains, and a blurred cherry blossom plant in the foreground.

It's that time of year when you're switching heavy winter bedding for lighter, cooler items. Storing them properly should be high on your list to avoid mold, dust, and pests secretly ruining them between now and the fall.

To keep my extensive collection as a Sleep Editor who is always in the midst of testing new products, organized and dust-free, I use the convenient IKEA PÄRKLA Storage case.

Slimline, foldable, and affordable, now my collection is dust-free and always tidy, it's the perfect tool for storing out-of-season bedroom items such as your best duvet inserts and comforters.

I Swear By This $3 IKEA Storage Staple to Organize Bedding

Since becoming Sleep Editor, I've been lucky enough to test all sorts of bedding, from the best mattress protectors to pillows and more. While this is undoubtedly one of the perks of the job, I found myself struggling to store my ever-growing 'to be tested' pile.

You may not have a pile like mine, but undoubtedly, there will be all sorts of seasonal bedding extras and guest bedroom linens you'll need to store away for months at a time, especially now as heatwaves loom and spring sunshine has already meant saying goodbye to extensive heating schedules.

Having an appropriate way to store your sets will keep them from smelling musty when you next need them. Just make sure they are fully washed and dry before you stow them.

All prices were correct at the time of publication.

I appreciate the IKEA PÄRKLA Storage case's utility, which is often what makes underbed storage ideas the most useful, and at just $2.99, it's an easy yes. I primarily use the smaller size of these, which costs just $1.99, for storing winter clothes, and have recently discovered how good they are for storing bedding, too.

IKEA delivery is available on orders with a minimum $35 value, so I'd recommend adding the excellent GRÄSROTSFLY cooling 2.5 tog duvet insert to your purchase to beat sleepless summer nights.

Our tester, Punteha van Terheyden, who suffers overheating at night due to multiple health conditions, found she fell asleep quickly and no longer woke up feeling like 'she was on fire' with the GRÄSROTSFLY. It's remarkably good at thermoregulation due to its lyocell and viscose construction, both of which help to keep the body.

I use mine under my bed but this storage case will also conveniently work just as well for organizing a linen closet, for example, or on top of a freestanding closet.

Perhaps the best part is that once empty, they fold completely flat for storage, so they won't take up any space when not in use if you're using them to organize a small house.

While I love and recommend the IKEA PÄRKLA Storage case, so too do over 6,000 shoppers, reflected in their five-star reviews on the IKEA website.

'So many uses,' reads one recent review left by verified shopper Joan. 'These are great for storing linens, clothes, shoes, blankets, towels, stuffed animals, winter hats, scarves, and gloves. Pretty much anything.

'They slide easily under a bed. Can be stacked. They're strong, hold a decent amount of weight, and you cannot beat the price. They are the most versatile storage cases imaginable.' I have to say, I agree.

Another review, left by Leslie, adds, 'I have several sizes of these Parkla bags – a smaller one for shoes (or anything small you want to keep dust out), medium, and large.

'All three sizes are good depending on what you want to use it for. I like that its white and semi-transparent, so you can see the items in the bag. I put them in the closet or under the bed to store items such as comforters and extra pillows for guests.'
