Just because you don't have a palatial yard doesn't mean you can't get green fingered at all. In its spring collection, IKEA has come through with a selection of gardening tools that are perfect for smaller spaces like balconies or terraces — and as you'd expect from the Swedish homeware giant, there are some playful design flourishes, and it's all pleasingly affordable too.
I have a courtyard that's about the size of a postage stamp, and it's been looking rather unloved of late. I'll be picking up a Vitlok hanging flower pot to loop onto the fence, or maybe a galvanized steel Korkgran planter to sit on the floor and fill with herbs. I'm also going to arm myself with a Doftrips soil scoop and striped potting mat, plus a pair of cheerful red Bytbona pruning shears so I'm all set up to care for my plants properly.
