A new free "Skyrim" mod offers a strange solution.
Kallax Storageborn adds a sentient shelving unit that can follow the Dragonborn around Tamriel. It can store loot, collect items, and even help keep a player's home organized.
The best part? The talking shelf is voiced by actor Matt Berry.
Berry is known for shows such as "What We Do in the Shadows" and "Garth Merenghi's Darkplace."
A 'Skyrim' Quest About Clutter
According to VGC, the mod begins with a problem that should feel familiar to longtime "Skyrim" players. Your character has too much stuff.
Once the Dragonborn becomes overencumbered, Kallax Storageborn sends players toward an abandoned Dwemer emporium. This starts a new quest that explores the mysterious origins of the storage companion.
The story eventually focuses on a surprisingly powerful enemy: the never-ending clutter.
The mod presents it as one of Tamriel's greatest threats. Players can eventually build their own Kallax Storageborn and bring the unusual companion along on their adventures.
Kallax also has a massive storage capacity. It can collect loot and help organize items around the player's homestead.
Meet Kallax, the Talking Shelf
Kallax is not simply another container. The sentient shelving unit can become a companion. Players can also summon it using a new Thu'um.
There is another useful feature.
Kallax can be summoned even when it is not currently assigned as the player's companion. That gives players more flexibility when managing their inventory during long adventures.
The mod also introduces new equipment. Among the additions are the Allenblade and Meatball Helmet.
New Enemies and More Loot
Kallax Storageborn also adds new enemies to "Skyrim."
These foes are described as particularly filthy opponents. Players can take on these enemies while using the mod's new equipment and abilities.
After acquiring Kallax, players can continue exploring Skyrim as usual. They can pursue the main story. They can become the Arch-Mage. They can serve Sithis.
They can also support either side of the Civil War, or they can simply wander around and fight a mudcrab. Kallax can tag along through all of it.
