IIT Hyderabad helps ITI students upgrade skills

HYDERABAD: To strengthen the skills of ITI students in conventional machining and introduce them to modern ones, the Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad (IITH) conducted a skill development programme at the Central Workshop on its campus.

A total of 57 ITI students from Patancheru and Sangareddy took part in the workshop conducted in four batches.

The Central Workshopis used to impart practical training to BTech students (Mechanical, Civil, Design, & Industrial Chemistry) and provide fabrication assistance to faculty, students and external scholars for research, said Karri Badarinath, faculty-in-charge.

“Central Workshop is a unique platform at IITH that is not only aiding engineering excellence but also encouraging the development of talents surrounding IITH,” said IITH director BS Murty.
