Elizabeths (or similar) can bag a Jubilee treat at a Showcase Cinema

You could call it an offer fit for a queen – Showcase Cinemas is celebrating the Platinum Jubilee by offering a free ticket or a free hopper of popcorn to anyone sharing the royal name Elizabeth.

And don't worry if your name's a derivation of Elizabeth or is spelled differently – you can still benefit from the offer after the cinema chain named all the variations it would deem acceptable. However, one name conspicuous by its absence is Lilibet – the nickname given to Her Majesty when a small child and one used as a term of endearment by her late husband, Prince Philip – and now the name of the Queen's great granddaughter, the second child of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

On its website, Showcase proudly proclaimed: "We're excited to be celebrating the Royal Jubilee by offering free cinema tickets and snacks for anyone named Elizabeth over the Jubilee bank holiday. On Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd June, film fans with the same first name as The Queen can claim a free cinema ticket to a screening of their choice at their local Showcase.
