A SENIOR Labour MP’s proposal for the UK to re-join the EU without a referendum could “equally apply to Scottish independence,” the SNP’s longest-serving MP has said.

However, Pete Wishart told The National that enacting any such major constitutional changes without a referendum “would be entirely the wrong thing to do”.
