‘I’ve always believed that the spaces we live in should feel as personal and expressive as the clothes we wear,’ Hill House Home founder and CEO Nell Diamond tells Homes & Gardens. ‘When I’m getting dressed, I’m usually thinking about balance, pairing something romantic with something practical, something polished that still feels effortless. I approach decorating in much the same way.’
It’s the thinking behind her fashion and lifestyle brand’s first foray into homes: an indoor-outdoor collaboration with Williams Sonoma spanning summer tabletop, kitchen, entertaining, bedding, and just about every other corner of the home capable of wearing a print.
In the Hill House Home universe, pattern play is pretty much mandatory – as is comfort (the viral Nap Dress didn’t earn that name for nothing). The same ease, that same aversion to boredom, carries through every fashion-inspired signature here.
‘With this collection, I wanted every piece to feel feminine and elevated, but still entirely livable,’ Nell explains of the lineup's all-weather friendliness, weaving in materials like wicker and rattan to create an airy, easygoing cadence.
Easygoing enough, in fact, to include a game table designed to move seamlessly from morning coffee to late-night backgammon. ‘I’m not interested in creating rooms that feel too precious to use. The most beautiful homes are the ones that are actually lived in – the table set for dinner, books stacked on a side table, children running through the kitchen.’
Memorable outfits, like memorable homes, 'have personality,’ Nell adds. And personality is hardly in short supply here. Between the patterned pillow covers, crawling vine dinner plates, and monogrammable bedding, the collection asks that you decorate with a little more moxie this summer.
‘Don’t be afraid of pattern, don’t be afraid of color, and don’t feel like everything needs to match perfectly,’ she insists. ‘Some of the most beautiful spaces feel collected over time. I always want our pieces to make everyday moments feel a little more magical, whether that’s making the bed in the morning or setting the table for friends.’
To that end, it’s stain-concealing florals and cheerful prints galore. ‘Romance doesn’t have to mean anything overly formal,’ says Nell of her ideal summer tablescape. ‘It’s really about intention and beauty…. A printed tablecloth, cloth napkins, fresh flowers from the garden, and candles, even when it’s still light outside.’
‘Those small touches can completely transform a meal,’ she continues – and this collection, which finds opportunities for charm in nearly every room of the home, is full of them.

Summer entertaining is no time for predictable hosting tricks. We want to be dazzled. So we asked Nell: What’s one entertaining move that feels unexpectedly chic right now?
‘I love a fun little surprise. One of my favorite entertaining tricks is serving something delightfully unfussy in a very beautiful way. Chicken nuggets in an elegant serving bowl. Soft serve with rainbow sprinkles presented on your best china. There’s something charming about the contrast. It feels playful, slightly unexpected, and much less serious than traditional entertaining.’
We’re not striving for perfection, only to top our pommes frites with osetra, thank you very much.
