NEW DELHI: In the ongoing controversy surrounding Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, Vinesh Phogat expressed that his attendance at the inauguration of the new Parliament building on May 28 would hold a great significance and convey a clear message about the prevailing state of affairs in the country.
Vinesh, along with fellow top wrestlers including Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik, has been staging a sit-in protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi since April 23. Their demand is the arrest of Brij Bhushan on allegations of sexually harassing seven female grapplers, one of whom is a minor.
