When it comes to travel, staycations have never been more popular and it seems that quieter, rural destinations are in demand. Though Edinburgh is always a big draw for people visiting Scotland, according to Trip Advisor it's one of its smaller lesser known suburbs which is becoming a popular destination in its own right.
The review site’s Travel Index for 2022 has just named the village of Ratho, as one of its top 10 trending destinations across the U.K.
Sitting alongside the likes of the picturesque villages of Morar and Balmaha, as well as the lesser-known Onich, Ratho ranked seventh in the overall list.

Located close to Edinburgh Airport, it's just a short drive from the city centre and is known for the Union Canal which passes through it and plays a key part in its history. The village is also home to a world-class indoor climbing arena (The EICA) and will soon be home to Wave Garden, a world-class surf and water leisure destination.
The historic village is filled with stunning old buildings and is popular for walks along the canal, with the Bridge Inn and its latest restaurant, Bridge 15, which has been wowing visitors, locals, and even our journalists, alike with its stunning dishes.
