The Evening Standard is offering readers the chance to win a limited edition print of Idris Khan’s artwork in support of Ukraine.
I Thought We Had More Time…, which Khan was inspired to make after seeing images of families fleeing their homes, has raised £137,000 for the Evening Standard’s Ukraine Appeal. It is being sold as a timed-edition print for £300, in collaboration with Migrate Art, until Thursday. It will not be possible to buy it after that.
Readers can donate £10 to our appeal to be entered into a prize draw to win the print. All profits will go towards the Disasters Emergency Committee, helping those who have been displaced from their homes because of the conflict.
The print features the colours of the Ukrainian flag watercoloured onto collaged music paper. Khan told the Standard that the flag had “almost become the symbol of the free world for a lot of people, and a symbol of hope and defiance.”
“I’m so thrilled to offer a print as part of a prize draw. Everyone deserves the chance to contribute and help in any way they can, and we truly appreciate it all,” he told the Standard.
Simon Butler, founder of Migrate Art, said: “The response to this print release has been overwhelming. We are glad this project can make some kind of difference to the people that have had their lives turned upside down in Ukraine,”
